Changelog & roadmap

Relay ships in small, focused releases.

v1.4 Latest#

Sign up and go live yourself. Relay is open to everyone: no waiting list, no sales call.

  • Self-serve accounts and workspaces. Create an account with Google or an emailed link, name your workspace, pick a plan and pay. Each workspace is isolated from every other one.
  • Billing through Dodo Payments. Pro and Team, monthly or yearly with two months free. Dodo is the merchant of record, so it handles card payments, tax and invoices; manage everything from Billing.
  • Teams and seats. Add teammates by email under Inbox → Team. Pro includes three seats, Team is unlimited, and one person can belong to several workspaces.
  • Your own public pages. A branded help center and feedback board at /w/your-workspace/…, with your chat widget on them.
  • Your own support address. Each workspace receives email at its own address, and outgoing mail shows your workspace name.
  • Workspace keys. The widget and feedback snippets now carry your workspace’s public key (data-key). Copy the updated snippets from Inbox → Settings → Install.
  • Plans are enforced. Analytics is part of Team, and a lapsed subscription switches the workspace off until it’s renewed, without deleting anything.

v1.3 Shipped#

  • Reliable handoff. When Claude says the articles don’t cover a question, refuses, or errors, or when nothing matches, the conversation now goes to your team instead of showing a canned article excerpt.
  • Bot disclosure. The widget tells customers they’re chatting with an AI (or automated) assistant, and labels every bot message.
  • Better recall. When no article matches a question’s words, Claude reads the help center itself, so paraphrased questions still get answered.
  • File attachments. Customers and your team can attach images, PDFs and text files in the widget and the inbox, and you can upload a brand logo.
  • Passwordless sign-in. The inbox uses Google or an emailed magic link. The shared admin password is gone.

v1.2 Shipped#

Feedback board. A new, separate component for collecting feature requests.

v1.1 Shipped#

  • Email channel: inbound email becomes a conversation; your replies go out by email.
  • Unread-reply notifications by email.
  • Live updates over Server-Sent Events, with polling as a fallback.

v1.0 Shipped#

  • Support widget with help center search, the support bot and handoff to a human.
  • Inbox with views, internal notes, saved replies, priority, tags and keyboard shortcuts.
  • Knowledge base and public help center.
  • Analytics and workspace settings.

Next Planned#

  • Assigning conversations to teammates, and @mentions in internal notes.
  • Snooze a conversation until a date.
  • Attachments on inbound and outbound email (chat attachments have shipped).
  • Customer satisfaction (CSAT) rating after resolution.

Later#

  • Multi-language help center.
  • Webhooks and a public REST API with API keys.
