Getting started

Quickstart

Go from nothing to a working support widget and feedback board in your app in about ten minutes.

Before you start#

  • A card for the Pro or Team plan, billed monthly or yearly. There’s no free plan and no waiting list: you sign up and pay to switch your workspace on. See Plans & billing.
  • Access to your app’s HTML or layout template, to paste a script tag.

There’s nothing to install or host: Relay runs on our servers.

Steps#

  1. Sign up and choose a plan

    Pick Pro or Team on the pricing page (switch to Yearly for two months free) and choose Get started. Create your account with Google or an emailed link, then give your workspace a name. Usually that’s your company or product: customers see it in the widget and on your help center.

  2. Pay to switch it on

    You’ll go straight to a secure checkout run by our payment partner, Dodo Payments, which takes the payment, handles tax and sends your invoice. When it’s confirmed (usually a few seconds) your inbox opens at /inbox.

  3. Make it yours

    In Inbox → Settings, set your brand name, accent color, greeting and the agent name your customers will see. The widget and the feedback board both pick these up automatically.

  4. Write a help article

    In Inbox → Knowledge base, add an article for a question you answer often. The bot answers from published articles, so even a handful makes a difference. See Writing articles.

  5. Install the support widget

    Paste this before the closing </body> tag of your app. Copy it from Inbox → Settings → Install, which fills in your address and your workspace key (the data-key):

    html
    <script>
      window.RelaySettings = {
        userId: currentUser.id,     // optional
        name: currentUser.name,     // optional
        email: currentUser.email    // optional
      };
    </script>
    <script src="https://support.notaislop.xyz/widget.js" data-key="wk_XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" async></script>
  6. Install the feedback board

    Put the board wherever you want it, for example on a “Feedback” or “Roadmap” page of your app:

    html
    <div id="relay-feedback"></div>
    <script>
      window.RelayFeedbackSettings = { userId: currentUser.id, name: currentUser.name };
    </script>
    <script src="https://support.notaislop.xyz/feedback.js" data-key="wk_XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" async></script>
  7. Try it as a customer

    Open your app, ask the widget a question and tap Talk to a human. The conversation appears at the top of Inbox → Open. Reply, and watch it arrive live in the widget. Then post an idea on the board and see it in Inbox → Feedback board.

No app handy?

Try the live demo: a sample SaaS app with the widget already installed. It’s the fastest way to see the customer side.
