The widget reads its look and words from your workspace settings each time it loads. Change them in Inbox → Settings and every installed widget updates, with no deploy on your side.
What you can change#
Settings has a live preview of the widget, so you can see changes before you save.
Choosing an accent color#
- White text sits on the accent color, so pick a color dark enough for white text to stay readable (roughly 4.5:1 contrast).
- Use your product’s primary brand color so the widget feels built in.
- Any hex value works. The swatches in Settings are safe starting points.
Writing a greeting#
Keep it short and set expectations. For example: “Hi there 👋 Ask anything, we usually reply within a few hours.” When a signed-in user opens the widget, the “Hi there 👋” part is replaced with their first name.
Want a completely different look?
The widget’s layout is fixed so it stays accessible and consistent. If you need full design control, the feedback board has a headless API. For support chat, the Widget API is documented too, but building your own chat UI is a larger project.
